The 504222 (Model: PSEN 1.1p-20) is a passive, magnetic sensor that works in conjunction with a matching actuator (usually part number 514220). When the guard is closed and the actuator is within the sensing range, the safety contacts close, allowing the machine to run. If the guard is opened, the magnetic field is broken, and the safety relay trips to stop the hazard.
